An overview of music history from the Baroque to present. This class focuses on listening to and discussing works by major composers and demonstrating major styles and forms in music.

Junior Music Theory

Offers a structured introduction to note reading and rhythmic understanding in a social, engaging and child friendly environment for children ages 4 to 6

Advanced Music Theory & Solfege (AP Class)

Sundays:
9:30 - 11:00AM - Teacher Daniel Battaglia
Tuition: $1400 (30 weeks or 45 hours of classwork)
This class leads into the more advanced study of harmony, voice leading and a basic form analysis, as well as developing important aural skills through solfege and dictation exercises.  Textbook and worbook required:  "Tonal Harmony" by Stefan Kostka & Dorothy Payne.  Upon the full completion all of the course requirements, students may be enrolled to take an AP test which would grant them highschool credits.  Students may enroll to take this course privately with our faculty if their schedule does not allow for the class.

Composition

Tuesdays:  7:00 - 7:45PM- Teacher:  Michael Bussewitz –Quarm
Creating and writing down pieces of music for various instruments. The course includes performance of compositions upon their completion. Composition classes are taught privately or in a group setting
