Make Up Policy
Should a faculty member miss a class or private lesson, a make up class or lesson will be offered, unless a substitute teacher was provided.   Faculty are not required to make up any classes or lessons missed by students.  However, at the discretion of the teacher one private lesson per student per semester may be made up, provided that notice of the absence has been given at least 24 hours in advance.  Should a student cancel a make-up lesson appointment, the lesson will be considered made up.  

Payment Policy
A portion of the tuition must be paid at the time of registration to ensure a lesson time.  "Regular" and "lessons only" tuition may be paid either for the entire semester, or by half or quarterly payments.  Tuition for classes, such as kindermusik must be paid for the entire session, and is non-refundable.  Tuition includes the selected program of study, as well as acces to all Academy Concerts, Workshops and Recitals.  There is a $50.00 penalty fee for returned checks.  Checks should be made payable to the "Port Jefferson Music Academy".

Registration Procedures
Registration will take place prior to each new semester.  Specific hours will be posted during which parents are required to contact the school and submit their first payment, as well as discuss scheduling.  Registration can continue throughout the semester if class space permits.

Dress Code for Performance Classes and Concerts
Students may dress casually for worskhops and are encourage to dress more formally for recitals and concerts if possible. Please do not wear jeans or sneakers for performance, as well as no rings, bracelets, or strong perfumes.
